Coffee in the Kivu Belt
The Kivu belt is one of Rwanda's most prestigious coffee-growing regions. Its plantations grow among volcanic mountains and next to Lake Kivu, a privileged environment that provides moderate temperatures, abundant rainfall, and slow cherry maturation. These conditions favor coffees with great sweetness, balanced acidity, and extraordinary complexity in the cup.
Red Bourbon and RAB C15 Varietals
Red Bourbon is Rwanda's most iconic varietal and one of the reasons for the country's excellent reputation in the specialty coffee world. It is characterized by its great sweetness, balance, and elegance. In this lot, it is combined with RAB C15, a selection developed to improve the productivity and resistance of the plants while maintaining a high-quality sensory profile.
Natural Process
Ripe cherries are carefully selected and dried whole on raised African beds for several weeks. This process allows the bean to absorb some of the sugars and aromatic compounds from the pulp, developing a more intense profile with greater sweetness, body, and very expressive ripe fruit, while always maintaining a clean and balanced cup.
